My debut book is available now:

Sad in a Playhouse: A Visual Memoir in Poems

When my last relationship fell apart, I didn’t know where to put everything I was feeling, so I wrote. I wrote my feelings and memories, pulling from my personal journals and writing in real time. Somehow, those writings became this book.

Sad in a Playhouse is a deeply personal and relatable collection of poems, journal entries, photographs, and real-life artifacts, including ticket stubs, wristbands, and receipts. It is a story of love, loss, and eventually finding your way home to yourself.

Reviews:

“This was not just a poetry collection to me—it felt like stepping into someone’s memories, emotions, photographs, and private thoughts all at once. It honestly felt like flipping through someone’s personal scrapbook while hearing their inner voice at the same time. The visuals added another emotional layer because they helped paint the atmosphere of loneliness, reflection, heartbreak, identity, and healing. It almost felt cinematic.

The memoir felt authentic. This is definitely one of the most creative poetry memoirs I have read in a long time. It is emotional, artistic, vulnerable, and incredibly unique in presentation. I truly loved the combination of visual art and poetry and would gladly read more from this author in the future.”

“I read this book in one sitting today. Poetry is not usually my thing. Really, it’s not my thing at all. But something about this collection of poems in the form of a memoir was very meaningful and poignant, as well as beautiful and heartbreaking. This was a story of love and heartbreak, and it broke my heart but also put it back together again and made me feel hope for the human being displayed in these poems. I found myself giggling one second, gasping the next, and then bawling in the end. Each poem while either dealt with love and heartbreak, it had its own voice each time. This book hit close to home, literally, and I’m so glad I read it. This masterpiece completely deserves 5 ⭐️.”
